Simatree Gullet Bars
A changeable gullet bar allows you or your saddle fitter to modify the width of the saddle’s gullet to suit the horse’s wither profile as the horse changes shape with either exercise, muscle development, maturity or rest. There are 8 options in the short S-bar and 7 in the long R-bar.
All Fairfax saddles feature a changeable gullet bar (either S-Bar or R-Bar) which allows the saddle fitter to choose the width fitting that best suits the profile of the horse’s withers. The bars can be changed quickly and easily as the horse develops or changes shape.The changeable gullet bars come in two sizes:
The shorter S-Bar to fit the lower-headed trees with shorter points and a square cantle; Low Wither Models, Cob & Connie Models, Pony Models
The longer R-Bar to fit the high-headed trees with long points and a round cantle; (NOTE: The S-Series Jump saddle takes an R-Bar despite having a square cantle). R-Bars are not available in Extra Extra Wide fitting
