A curb strap is designed to be used with elevator bits. The strap gives a medium curb pressure through the curb groove, thus adding to the flexsion element in the elevators raising process. For insistance it is useful if a horse raises his head when the elevator is used correctly, but still does not give enough through the jaw.
Fitted to the upper ring on an elevator where the cheek strap connects, it should come into action at 45 degree for the vertical. This is not a severe curb strap.
